Comfort from the Comforter as a Reward for Your Trust in God and His Grace

By Moses Hightower

I have not made men your leaning post, neither have I made flesh your arm. You have looked upon the arm of flesh and counted it as security. There is no security in man, for man's days are like grass, which grows up and then is gone. In the morning, grass will flourish and grow up. In the evening, grass is cut down and withers. Place your hope in me. I am eternal. The heavens shall perish, but I shall endure. All of the heavens shall wax old like a garment, and as a vesture I shall change them. I am the same and my years have no end. I have given you my word. A living word abides in you. The written word has become Rhema unto you. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. The word in you shall not be shaken. It is the word of the kingdom, which cannot be moved. I have given you grace so that you may serve me acceptably with reverence and godly fear. My word is like a fire, and I am a consuming fire. Look to me. I am keeping you, not man. The heavens and the earth are kept in store by my word and so are you.

The arm of flesh searches for the weak. Spirits of deception are using arms of flesh. Do not be deceived by another arm of dependency. Man is as the dust. Man's days are as grass and as a flower of the field. The wind passes over the field where a flower flourishes and the flower is gone. The place where it stood will not know it anymore. Look to the arm of mercy. It is from everlasting to everlasting. I am the Eternal Spirit. A thousand years in my sight are as yesterday when it is past. It is as a watch in the night. Man is as grass. He withers and fades, but the word of God shall stand forever.

Come unto me with singing. I have placed everlasting joy upon your heads. Gladness and joy are yours. Sorrow and mourning are lifted unto a flight away from your presence. As a reward for your trust in me, comfort has come from the Comforter. The words spoken in your ears have also imprisoned the fear of man. Man shall die. The sons of men are as grass, so do not fear them. Remember me, your maker, for it is I, the Lord Jesus, that has stretched forth the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. I have placed my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand. Abide in the shade of my love. The fire of the trial shall not scorch you. The flood of the adversary shall not drown you, and the schemes of your enemies shall be folded as a garment. I shall cast their schemes back into their faces, and you shall continue in your heritage that I gave you. You will not serve your enemies, for you have not made flesh your arm. By my grace, I have kept you and your heart has not departed from me. Your eyes have been opened to the good at your door. I turned you away from the parched places in the wilderness of the last days and blessed you because you trusted in me. I am your hope. Allow me to remain your hope, for I am the hope of glory.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light."

Words of Light upon the Face of the Arm of Flesh, Deception, Enemies, Sorrow, Sighing, and the Fire of Trials

RE: RHEMA - Comfort from the Comforter as a Reward for Your Trust in God and His Grace

We face the giants of fear and doubt in many situations. David's confidence before the battle with Goliath came out of past experience that he had turned to praise and joy. God had given him victory over the lion and bear as he took care of his father's business. We are taking care of our Father's business. He will not leave us open to the brutal attack of some enemy and not defend us and fight for us. He is still the Lord God mighty in battle. Our enemy may not come with a sword and spear but with a lie or gossip. Goliath's name meant "One who would strip you naked and bring you to shame." It also had the meaning of one who would exile you and isolate you from your relationship with God. The spiritual application is so potent here.  When we get focused on naked flesh we can only see its weakness and failure.  Satan would like for us to get our eyes off the author and finisher of our faith.  David turned the insults of the enemy into shouts of praise and declarations of victory. We must follow suit. When you read about the setting that David walked into you will see prior to Goliath coming out in the field of battle the men shouted for the battle. This type of shout for the mastery is mentioned in a negative sense in Exodus 32:18. David shouted, "Is there not a cause?" Every commentary and translator looks at the verse and the next and make out as if David was doing almost what his brother said he was. The implication was that he was just talking big.  When you examine the word cause in the Hebrew, it is the word DABAR! It means to speak or declare to take dominion over. It is the Hebrew equivalent of Rhema! It is used by the Lord to Abraham when he promised them Isaac to be born and said, ”Is there any thing too hard for the Lord?"  Thing is the Hebrew word Dabar. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says that we have the same spirit of faith.  We believe and therefore we have spoken. This a quote from David in Psalms 116:10.  David went on to tell and declare to the giant that he would defeat him today. He said that he would feed all the carcasses of the enemy to the birds because the battle is the Lord's and God would give him into his hand!.  Our praise should be exuberant and confident that this same One who fought for David will defeat the disapproving spirits of men just as soundly and show that we are God's servants.

I have given your little one power to tread upon the lion and the adder. She has trampled the young lion and the dragon under her feet. She has been placed in the secret place of the most High. She abides under the shadow of the Almighty; therefore, do not fear for her, for I am her refuge and her fortress. I am her God and your God. Trust in me, and do not lean to your own understanding. I shall surely deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. You are covered with my feathers and under my wings; you may trust.

RE: RHEMA - The Faithful Army of True Worshippers in the Midst of Intimidating Impossibilities

Fear is in the midst of the stealthiest attack in our minds at all times. Some of fear’s worst attacks come out of what seems to be our most prudent thoughts.  God has already said he would bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  Satan's favorite attack is to pit a traditional teaching and a scripture against one another. At other times, he will come and pit one Rhema or prophesy against another. We must refuse to be intimidated and know that what God has said is certain. We must keep on worshipping him in the midst of all the warring thoughts of our mind, or we will expend all our energy re-fighting battles he has already won for us.

It is time to go on to the purpose for which I sent you into the world.  Set at liberty those who are bruised, and comfort those who are mourning. Let the oppressed go free, and heal the sick.  Cast out devils, and deliver the captives from the prison houses. Mend the broken hearts with the words that are within you.

473.    How will you minister to the people of your world if you spend each day in spiritual warfare merely challenging the powers of darkness?

I am fighting against the foes from hell and from the darkness.

474.    Can you see the enemy?

Lord, you are the head of all power and principality; therefore, I give you praise. Because of your love for me, I am not afraid to face the giants of fear and doubt in any situations. I am rejoicing because you are teaching me as you taught David. His confidence before the battle with Goliath came out of past experiences that he had turned into praise and joy. You had given him victory over the lion and bear as he took care of his father's business. Now you are teaching me that as I take care of your business, you will not leave me open to the brutal attack of the enemy. I thank you, O Lord, for defending me and fighting for me. You are still the Lord God who is mighty in battle, and I worship you. My enemy may not come with a sword and spear, but he may come with a lie or gossip. I am indebted to you, for you have not allowed the Goliaths of the hour to exile and isolate me from my relationship with you. I am appreciative of the spiritual application that you have expressed, and now my eyes are refocused on your power. By grace, I will no longer focus on the weakness and failure of naked flesh, but I will keep my eyes on you the author and finisher of my faith.

As David turned the insults of the enemy into shouts of praise and declarations of victory, so will I follow suit with great boldness and proclaim my praise unto you. I give you thanks, for you have opened my understanding through your Rhema word. I believe your word and therefore I speak.  I purpose to praise you in an exuberant manner, for you are the same One who fought for David and who also fights for me. I am delighted that you have given me that same spirit of faith and you, my God, will defeat the disapproving spirits of men. I am indebted to you and honored by your care for me, your servant. I come into your presence with singing, and I rejoice in the everlasting joy that you have placed on my head.

RE: PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING - April 30, 2007

In 1 Chronicles 29:29, it mentions the book of Gad, the seer of David. Few statements are recorded of his sayings. Yet, it is generally agreed that some of David's most powerful Psalms were some insights of from Gad, the seer. We are taught the lesson that even if there is no record of much of his prophecy, it lives on in praise! This in turn let's us know that our praise should be prophetic. Gad means that a troop is coming. This is alluding to the troop that marched down into the field of battle as David waited for the sound of the goings in the top of the mulberry trees. Every word of agitation and aggravation is turned into ashes by the troops of praise that will be uttered out of our mouths.
