THOUGHTS
HIGHER THAN MINEis
a series of inspired letters that were received from the Lord
while in prayer. I wish to share some of them with you. I believe
that you will be comforted, encouraged, edified, inspired, and
directed as you read these letters from the spirit of prophecy.
2
Samuel 23:2 states that, "The spirit of the Lord spake by
me, and his word was in my tongue."Genesis 3:8 states
that, "...they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the
garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves
from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden."
We have been restored to the communal relationship that Adam
had in the Garden of Eden. The Holy Ghost in us is the hope of glory.
"Christ in us" is the source of inspiration, comfort, edification,
direction, and all that we need.
The
spirit of prophecy moved upon a prophet in the valley of dry bones,
and an entire army was resurrected. In these closing hours of the
church upon the earth, God is going to move upon his sons and daughters,
and many dry bones are going to come alive. The LORD God is filling
our hearts and mouths with his word. We can talk to God in prayer,
but he also is talking to those who have an ear to hear what the
spirit is saying. As the children of Israel had fresh manna every
day, which was a shadow of good things to come, we can now have
fresh words proceeding out of the mouth of God daily. "Man shall
not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of
the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) When words come from the Living
Lord inside of us, they are energized words that change lives. (See
Matthew 10:20)
There
is a famine of the hearing of the word of God. During this time
of famine, the Chief Shepherd is sending forth fresh bread. Psalms
95:7 states that, "...he is our God; and we are the people
of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear
his voice." John 10:3-4 states that, "To him the porter openeth;
and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name,
and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he
goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice."
In John 10:16 it states, "And other sheep I have, which
are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear
my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." John 10:27
states that, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and
they follow me." Jesus said, "For it is not ye that speak,
but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you."(Matthew
10:20)
People
pray for various reasons. However, prayer is not simply an individual
bombarding God with the words from their heart and mouth. Prayer
is a two-way conversation between an individual and God. We talk
to God and he listens, but God also talks to us and we should listen.
It is written in the Bible that "his sheep hear his voice..."
I
prayed many years simply talking to God and never listening to hear
his reply to me. In the year of 1987, friends shared with my wife
and I their experience that they were having with God in prayer.
They shared the beautiful relationship of the restoration of man
and the fellowship that Adam and Eve had with God in the beginning.
Shortly after that, the Spirit spoke to me and told me to get a
pencil and record what came into my spirit. From that day, I began
recording the thoughts that came to me in prayer. My ears grew sensitive
to the voice of the Lord, and my entire prayer life changed. Prayer
was no longer a one hour formality to endure, but it became an exciting
experience.
I
really began to enjoy prayer once I discovered the reality that
the Lord's sheep could actually know the voice of their shepherd.
It thrilled me when I found out I could listen to God as he talked
to me just as he talked to Adam, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Isaiah,
Jeremiah, Daniel, Peter, Paul, and others that we read about in
the Bible. When I discovered the reality of this, I began to look
forward to the next time that I would commune and fellowship with
God.
I
do not always initiate the prayer fellowship and communion. Sometimes
there is "the call to prayer" by the Lord. There have been
times that I have been awakened out of sleep by a knock on the door.
The knock would sound equitable to someone outside knocking on my
door. There have been times that I heard a knock and I would sit
up in the bed suddenly. After listening for other knocks and hearing
none, I have gone to the door only to find that there was no one
there. In amazement, I would stand there wondering what had happened.
I learned that when I would hear the knocking then it was time to
pray. I would go to a place to pray and speak unto the Lord. Afterwards,
I would hear thoughts inside of me that I had never heard before.
God does not do that every day, but it has happened numerous times.
I
read in the Bible that God's thoughts and ways are higher than our
thoughts and ways. That scripture began to ring in my ears, so I
started recording the thoughts that came to me under a heading entitled,
"Thoughts Higher Than Mine." I knew that the thoughts I received
after praying were not my own because these thoughts were not typical
of my thought process or qualifications. The thoughts that came
to me oftentimes contained the answers to my problems. These thoughts,
which I believe to be from the Spirit of God, would encourage, edify,
comfort, and give direction to my life.
Many
letters were born in me during the time of perplexing problems and
trouble. As I began to share these letters, I found out that they
blessed other people also. Sometimes the letters would contain the
answers to other people's problems. Many times people have received
direction for their lives. I noticed that many of the letters followed
a theme, so I started giving the letters a title. Sometimes the
title openly stands out as a phrase in the inspired letter. Sometimes
the Spirit will give me a title.
I
do not claim to be anyone special of myself, but these thoughts
DID enter into my spirit. I recorded them as they came to me, and
they have truly revitalized and motivated me. Some people are inspired
to write poems. Some are inspired to write songs. THESE ARE INSPIRED
LETTERS. The Lord has spoken and given fresh bread. I recorded
many of his living expressions to me in a letter format. THE
ENTIRE COLLECTION OF LETTERS is called THOUGHTS HIGHER THAN MINE
SERIES. My intent is to share these letters with others, so
that they may be comforted and edified. By no means, am I declaring
that all the inspiration contained in the letters is for everyone,
but I do believe that many can reap something from the letters for
their own benefit.
The
scriptures declare, "Follow after charity, and desire spiritual
gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in
an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man
understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation,
and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;
but he that prophesieth edifieth the church."(1 Corinthians
14:1-4)
"And
it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out
of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men
shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will
pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:" (Acts
2:17-18, Also see Joel 2:28-29).
The
Lord said that his sons and daughters shall prophesy. If he said
that they would prophesy, then what they prophesy is definitely
important to us. IF IT IS IMPORTANT, we need to know what is being
prophesied today. "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let
the other judge. If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth
by, let the first hold his peace. For ye may all prophesy one by
one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted." (1 Corinthians14:29-31)
"Wherefore,
brethren, covet to prophesy,..." (1 Corinthians 14:39)"So
we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one
of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that
is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the
proportion of faith;" (Romans 12:5-6).
We
are in the last days, and God is pouring out his spirit. Sons and
daughters are prophesying. The ears of many are being opened by
God, so that they might hear what the Spirit is saying in this hour.
Enclosed on this website are some of the things that the Spirit
is saying to the church. God has given the testimony of Jesus to
the church; therefore, let us not despise it, but let us covet to
prophesy. In the book of Revelation it states, "And I fell at
his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not;
I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony
of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit
of prophecy." (Revelation 19:10)
I
pray that God will use these letters to bring comfort, edification,
and exhortation to lives. May the life that is resident in these
LIVING WORDS contribute to you being a better soldier in
the mighty, marching army of the Lord in these last days. The spirit
of prophecy is blowing throughout every valley and the whole world.
God's spirit is being poured out and expressed throughout the land.
Let us hear what the spirit is saying, for the letter killeth, but
the spirit giveth life. Jesus said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they
are spirit, and they are life." (John 6:63)
Pray
for an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying in this hour. Pray
also that all of God's people would have their understanding opened,
so that they might understand the scriptures. (Luke 24:45) May
God bless you richly!

Surely
the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his
servants the prophets.
