SCRIPTURAL VERIFICATION

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:8-10)

Words of Light Upon the Face of Embarrassment

February 28, 2005

Jesus has placed a spirit of thanksgiving upon me. He brought to my heart the desire to be thankful today. Without him, I can do nothing. The power of my God is working in me exceedingly great. It will bring to pass the things that I have been too weak to accomplish. Out of my weakness, his strength is seen in a perfect view. No longer will I look upon the things that happen in my life as things I have accomplished, but I will view them as things that he has wrought through me. I behold the exceeding, great power that is being manifest through me. He will do a new thing in my life. I have stared into the distance and viewed my dreams and the hope of prosperity. My dreams will become a reality, for hope will not leave me embarrassed. Hope has come back to me and brought the fruit of hope for me to taste. I taste and see that the fruit of hope is good. Its goodness will not leave an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Goodness will not be hindered by obstacles and difficulties. It will not be impeded by failing finances. It will not be confused by the claims of defeat. Trouble cannot interfere with the motion of goodness on my behalf. The obstructions of the enemy cannot block the hand of goodness as it stretches forth to bless me. God has sent embarrassment away to the pit from whence it came; therefore, I am not rattled by its noise in my ears.

I purpose to show forth extravagant praise and to hold fast to my confidence in God. I am not discomfited by the questions that embarrassment has asked me, neither am I disconcerted by the sarcastic remarks it makes regarding my faith. Faith has risen to speak in me, and I make known the proof of God's blessings that are arriving on faith's wings. Faith will foil embarrassment's attempt to humiliate me; therefore, I am not upset by the things that embarrassment has paraded before my face while putting on a show of mockery. My desire to be blessed, which I have anticipated, will not be delayed. I will obtain my expectation; therefore, I look forward with confidence for the results of my prayers and dreams.

Though the enemy has told me that I am hoping without any basis for expecting a fulfillment, my expectation will not fall to the ground empty. The Lord wishes above all things that I may prosper and be in health even as my soul prospers. I allow my hope to accompany a confident expectation of its fulfillment, for success is on the way. I dream of the future good, which is behind me. Goodness and mercy follows me everywhere I go. I open my eyes to a dream come true immediately. Jesus has sent it by the speed of his word. Now I rejoice and leap with the legs of a skilled dancer. It is his good pleasure to make me glad.

Hebrews 10:22 - 23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
