SCRIPTURAL VERIFICATION

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:8-10)

OF FAITH

Words of Light Upon the Face of Ungodliness and Worldliness

February 10, 2005

There is safety in a multitude of counselors. I will train my leaders to be counselors, for the hour comes where the safety of the flock will depend upon them. The Lord is calling me to school so that I may be well trained in counseling. In my class, he is the instructor. He will draw from the wealth of experience that he has already given me. I will prepare to teach what I have learned to my leaders. Wisdom will be the principal thing. Some will become fools so that they may be wise. The eye of a good counselor is controlled by the mind of Christ and not by natural wisdom or assumed wisdom. Many who think they are wise are fools. I determine not to give into the temptation of fame. I remember, Jesus made of himself no reputation. If I seek a reputation, I will be lured into the path of worldliness. There is nothing but spiritual death that awaits all who journey down its paths; therefore, I will not go on a voyage where I know there is no return. The Lord has set before me death and life. I choose life; therefore, I choose not fame and reputation. The flesh is weak. I will not give that which is weak this dangerous advantage by exposing it to its only source of strength. When I am completely yielded to the spirit, the flesh has no power. The darkness has no power to prevail in the presence of the light.

I will go into God's presence and allow him to shine with the glory of his brightness and then shall my flesh become weak as the darkness in the presence of the light. Jesus is the Great Light. All other lights are only dim imitators of him, the True Light. I will not be seduced by false lights. They come as beautiful women. They are whores and sorcerers; therefore, I will not be deceived by their manifestations of seemingly good lights. These tempests are ministers, and they come as angels of light. Every light is not the real light; therefore, I will be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. I will not climb in bed with these angels of the night. The Lord has placed this whore into a bed; therefore, I determine not to commit adultery with her. The great tribulation is reserved for all those who become disloyal to their first love. Grace is given, and it teaches to deny the ungodliness and worldly lusts of the hour. I will live soberly, righteously, godly, and the tide of ungodliness and worldliness will not wash me out to the sea of destruction with its waves of trickery and subtlety.

I will look for Jesus, the Blessed Hope, and I will love his appearing. He gave himself for me. He redeemed me from all iniquity. He is purifying unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. God's good works cannot shine before men if our light shines from the bed of spiritual adultery. There is no fellowship between light and darkness. There is no concord between God and Belial. A believer has no part with an infidel, and there is not an agreement between the temple of God and idols. I will go from these worldly influences and be separate. I will not touch the unclean thing, and the Lord will receive me. He is my Father. I am his son. I will honor the relationship that I have with him and stay far away from the influences of ungodliness and worldly lusts. Grace is given to me. Now I allow it to teach me continually. Grace is my bodyguard. I trust the wisdom of grace and live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.

Hebrews 10:22 - 23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
