Words
of Light Upon the Face of Trouble
February
6, 2005
I lift up my eyes unto the beauty of the Lord and his holiness.
I behold the creation and its beauty. I worship the Lord in
the beauty of holiness. Nature has drawn its illustrations for
my learning. God's voice is here in the classroom of communion.
I hear the word of the Lord, and I am growing in grace and in
the knowledge of the Lord. I behold the trees, and I behold
his plan for my growth. I was planted in the likeness of his
death and so am I raised in the likeness of his resurrection.
He has supplied everything that I need to go from my planting
unto my resurrection. I behold the planting of a seed and learn
of the power of his death. Unless a seed falls into the earth
and dies, it will abide alone. It must first die in the earth
and then it will bring forth much fruit. The powerful tree that
I beheld did not bypass death as a seed, yet many have not found
this powerful truth. Many are seeking this truth. I will go
and sow it into the earth. It will not return unto him void.
Nature teaches me, that which I sow is not quickened except
it dies. The gospel has been given to me. Now I will go and
preach the gospel that others may die and live again.
God
has waters that are alive. I no longer look to the dead water
of this world. When I was raised in the newness of life, rivers
of living water began to flow in me. I will withdraw my own
thoughts today, and I will water this valley with waterfalls
of freshness and beauty. I hear the voice of many waters. These
waters are speaking with power. These waters are falling upon
my ears with resounding power. I hear the melody of the waters
that flow. I cannot hear a melody if I considered the sound
upon my ears to be an unwanted noise.
The
Lord has sent a dangerous waterfall as a surprise in my life
to present me with a new melody of faith and trust. He is with
me in this waterfall. I will walk on into the center of this
fall that the sound of it may surround me then I will hear the
drum roll of trouble. I will cease listening to the distraction
of my natural senses, and I will listen with my spiritual ears.
God is directing this symphony, and he has commanded everything
in the waterfall of trouble to praise him. The fear of death
has picked up its trumpet and has laid aside its melody of taps.
The fear of death has picked up a new melody, and now love notes
bring the sounds of life.
I
will not die in this trial. God brought me here to hear the
sounds of faith. Many never hear the sounds of faith, for they
have never learned to hear spiritual sounds. In the greatest
trouble, there is a melody. In the darkest plague, there is
a melody of healing and recovery. In the worst difficulty, God
has hidden a solo for those who trust him. In the loudest annoyance,
there are notes of peace. I have listened at these things with
ears of unbelief. Now I listen with the ears of faith. Faith's
ears are not pestered by pests. Faith's ears are not harassed
by the sounds that are in the background of hardship. Faith's
ears are trained to hear the melody of victory over hardship;
therefore, the background sounds of hardship compliment the
melody that God's faithfulness has authored. I hear the beautiful
sounds of faith. They are heard by those who love him enough
to trust him. When I trust him in my troubles, then my ears
of rest will magnify the hidden melodies in all things. I rest
in these trials, for God is tuning my ears to hear the beauty
hidden in trouble's song.

Hebrews
10:22 - 23
Let
us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water. Let
us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;
(for he is faithful that promised;)
Ephesians
2:8-9
For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
