SCRIPTURAL VERIFICATION

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:8-10)

CONFESSION

OF FAITH

Series 3.1.14 - #14

Words of Light Upon the Face of Confusion

January 14, 2005

The fellowship that God offers is not rooted in human righteousness. The work of man's righteousness is not a foundation for this communion. He has authored this relationship because of love. His holiness has granted me the soil for this alliance. His righteousness has been imputed to me. His grace has voiced acceptance in my ears. The Lord has caused grace to speak to every mountain before me. The reconciliation that has transpired is an act of love. I allow this love to complete its work in me. Many wrestle to maintain their relationship with God. Many are torn from the bond of peace because they do not understand his grace. I found grace in his sight. His eyes were upon me in my helplessness. The favor within his love provided a habitation for me and lifted me above the waters that sought to drown me. His longsuffering was not shortened because of my sins, but an ark of provision was made for me to escape. His hand prepared my salvation. A door of hope was fashioned for my exit out of the darkness. God used the waters of death to lift me to the level of survival while his right hand brought me to the breast of his love.

I rejoice in my salvation today. It has been restored. Though I live in a world of spiritual prisoners, God has given me grace in the sight of the princes of the earth. He has given me favor in the sight of men. His blessing has been placed on my hands. My feet shall walk in the land of the wicked's wealth. I shall eat the fruit laid up for me in this land, for the wealth of the sinner is laid up for me. The just shall live by faith. Jesus hung on a tree that I might escape the curse in the land. The blessing of Abraham has come on me through Christ. Grace is teaching me that the promise of the Spirit is more than enough to confirm all that is mine in this life and the life to come.

I will not look for a sign that great grace is with me continually, but I look to the sign of the prophet Jonah. He was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. That is the only sign that I will receive, and it is more than I need. I behold the power of the gospel. It is the power of God unto salvation, for by grace, am I saved through faith and that not of myself. It is the gift of God, not of works lest I should boast. Jesus came as the nail in the holy place and made a way for my escape. He enlightened the eyes of the blind and made a way through the darkness.

I behold the reviving in my presence. I will not tarry. I am not a bondsman. The Lord has extended mercy unto me and brought me to the wall of salvation. He has given me the robe of righteousness, a garment of salvation. Only one garment can be worn over the garment of salvation. I put on the garment of praise and cast off the garment of heaviness. He has not given me the cloak that awaited me. I brought him a sacrifice. He burned my sacrifice of praise and gave me beauty for my ashes and the oil of joy for my mourning. I leap with the legs of the young ram and show forth the beauty of the garment of praise. Jesus is glorified while I wave as a tree of righteousness, his planting. I rejoice, for he has made me glad.

Hebrews 10:22 - 23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
