SCRIPTURAL VERIFICATION

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:8-10)

CONFESSION

OF FAITH

Series 2.11.8 - #312

November 8, 2004

I purpose not to approach God's throne with vain expressions with no meaning, but I purpose to approach this abode of grace with confidence in his redemption and him. He has purchased me and my salvation and given me access unto him by the precious blood of redemption. There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. I choose to walk after the Spirit, and I will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit lusts against the flesh. These are contrary one to the other so that I cannot do the things that I would. I cast off this cloak of self-righteousness and approach him as a child of God. I cast off this garment of suspicion and approach him as a friend. I cast off my preconceived ideas concerning him and approach him as the concerned God of my salvation.

He has not drawn me before the throne of grace to examine my works of righteousness; therefore, I lay aside the things I think will impress him. He is not impressed with anything that I have done. If I had done everything right, he would not be impressed, for I would remain an unprofitable servant. I tear open my sealed confidence and show God the faith in my bag that I have brought with me. I throw everything else away. He gave me faith, as he gave to every man. Now I am determined to show forth the faith that he gave me. It is sufficient for my appearance here at his throne. I desire to live holy before him and to continually seek his ways.

MY PRAYER, OR MY REPLY TO THE LORD

(Lord, I will not ask anything from you this morning. I trust you with my life and everything that is mine. I want you to let your will be done in my life. The army of spirits arrayed against me and their artillery of confusion has bombarded me with weapons too difficult for human reasoning and mental understanding. You are my savior and my God. I no longer seek my way but your way only. Whatever your will is for my life, let that be done. I rest in your decision concerning me. You are my God. You are my Lord. I am yours, and this ministry and all that is mine belongs to you; therefore, you plan for me Lord. Into your hands, I commit my entire life and all that is mine.)

--------------------------------------------------------------

I have now taken off the shackles that have bound me. It is my will that has stood in God's way. He gave me a will, and he will not trespass against it. The commandments of my will are honored in heaven and in earth. As the laws of the land, he has honored and respected the laws of my will. Now that I have committed everything into his hands, he will show me how simple the complexities before me are dismantled. I behold the working of my Father who lives inside of me. I behold the working of the power of the Almighty. The artillery of the enemy does not stymie me. He cannot be defeated. Confusion is no match for him. It is only a match for me in my humanity.

I come to him with new confidence in the blood of Jesus and the provision of the Almighty. He has paved a holy way into the holiest of all. Now I enter into his presence where there is fullness of joy. I look on his right hand and behold the pleasures forevermore. An enemy has held the mirror of unbelief in my face and allowed me to behold my insufficiencies and weaknesses. I look no longer in his mirror of human reflections. The Lord has not come to examine human beauty and human perfection. He has come to find faith on the earth.

Hebrews 10:22 - 23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
