I
behold the faces of men who once preached the gospel. I notice
the faces of those who remain.
(The
faces that followed were the faces of these men as children.)
If
they had remained as children, then they would not have gone
back to the world. The enemy has set the vines of pride on the
walls of this world. I may go among the vines of pride and satisfy
myself, but I will not find the Lord among the vines and the
spiders of the world. He is only found by those who seek him
with a whole heart. If I seek him among the vines of pride,
I will only climb to higher heights to leap from as I commit
spiritual suicide. It is foolish to go higher in the vines of
pride. I will come down from the vines of pride, for in the
next season, these attractive vines with beautiful flowers of
disobedience shall be the hard, dry vines of destruction.
I
have looked down from my wall of assumed escape and beheld the
huge rock below me. Jesus is the rock who followed me here.
Now I will let go of my vines of pride and fall upon him, the
rock, and I will be broken. I can be broken today and express
the sacrifices of God. If I continue my climb over the wall
before me, then I will fall because of my haughtiness, and this
same rock shall fall on me and grind me to powder. I let go
of all things in my heart and fall into the big arms of the
Rock. What seems to be a hard place, is really my shelter from
the storm. What seems to be a long way off, is really my hiding
place. I let go and win Christ. He is here to be won. The choice
is mine, the Resurrection or Destruction.
Hebrews
10:22 - 23
Let
us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water. Let
us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;
(for he is faithful that promised;)
Ephesians
2:8-9
For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
