SCRIPTURAL VERIFICATION

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:8-10)

CONFESSION

Series 2_#5

January 5, 2004

The light of the glorious gospel will not go out because I fail. The conditions for success are not rooted in any flesh. I can of myself do nothing. The Lord has brought me to this point in the journey to strip me of trust in self and the arm of flesh. He wants me to know him as I should know him. I lift my eyes from the fear of the loss of things, reputation, friends, and people. I have stared at these things long enough. Now I count them all loss and look to God. He is here to impart the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus. When my heart has laid down all things, then the Lord will be my prize. I have counted things loss with my mouth, but my heart has not. When things are counted loss for the sake of winning the Lord, then his holiness shall shine as many suns multiplied. I will not say that I have counted all things loss when they lay nearby in my heart. I will choose to remain with my treasures on the earth unless I empty my heart of idols. I will go and study idols. I do know what an idol is. There is no way for me to know whether I have an idol if I don't know what one is. I have idols in my life. God has made me to know that there are idols in my heart; therefore, I repent.

Hebrews 10:22 - 23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
